Super plastic material - PET
Juice, mineral water, soft drinks, liquor, salad
dressing, soy sauce, cosmetics, cleanser,
eyewash, fluorescent lighting, marking pens
countless everyday products are in need of
packaging.
What do these products have in common?
They are all packaged in functional attractive plastic containers produced on
machines made by ASB.
PET bottles as containers for carbonated drinks first made their appearance in
America in the 1970s. At about the same time, in 1978, Nissei ASB Machine Co.
Ltd., Japan started as a maker of stretch blow molding machines for the
production of plastic bottles.
Plastic bottles are now in general use and many materials such as PEN, PC and
PP, in addition to PET, are used. With the great increase in the number of uses
for bottles, we are always dealing with new subjects. We at ASB are not
satisfied to rest on our laurels as pioneers of bottle making machines, but
continue to develop the possibilities of the
product.
Features of PET
· Transparency
Its clear gloss finish enhances the appearance
of the contents. (PET can also be colored if
  desired.)
· Hygienic
PET is free of taste & smell, and will not contaminate or impair the contents
of the bottle in any way. PET complies with the USA's FDA (Food & Drug
Administration) food packaging standards, as well as those of Japan and
  other countries.
· Strong
Durable, totally safe and shatter proof.
· Barrier
Good gas barrier prevents product oxidation, or tainting by odor absorption.
· Light Weight
About one tenth the weight of similar sized glass bottles. This makes it
convenient for consumers, dramatically reduces distribution costs, & minimizes
  use of resources.
· Design
  Easily formed into attractive designs.
· Recyclable
Used PET bottles can be washed, broken into flakes & reshaped as PET
bottles or employed as material for strapping, carpeting, fiber filling, etc.
· Non-toxic
PET is made from the same three elements (carbon, oxygen and hydrogen)
as paper, and contains no toxic substances. When burned it produces
carbon-di-oxide gas & water, leaving no toxic residues.
